LONG WINNING STREAK CONTINUES BY A MATTER OF INCHES!

The Webb City Cardinals were in trouble, deep trouble, of seeing their 83 game winning streak against Missouri HS teams in severe danger. With the Nixa Eagles, just inches away from the goal line with 38 seconds left in the game and tied 21-21, Nixa rejected the opportunity to kick a FG and went for the touchdown. With lots of confusion leading up to the play, Nixa quarterback Jacob Karlson was stopped just short of the Goal Line on his running attempt. That sent the game into overtime. Nixa kicked a FG, ironically, on their first possession to take a 24-21 lead but Tyson Roderique and Kiante Hardin connected for a 25-yard scoring pass on WC’s first play from scrimmage to stun previously unbeaten Nixa 27-24 in a Central Ozark Conference Large Division game. Webb City’s defense had risen to the top on an earlier occasion as the Cardinals had earlier stopped the Eagles inside the 10 yard line on a 4th down play. Webb City has never lost a Central Ozark Conference Football game since it joined the league in 2008.
