Chaminade Hangs on for the 26-21 Win –

The Chaminade Flyers (3-2) jumped out to a 26-7 halftime lead and held off a late charge by the SLUH Jr. Bills (1-3) to win an MCC game 26-21. The Flyers controlled the first half as they piled up 333 offensive yards. Tom Martin hit his favorite receiver Mark Gorman five times during the first half for 141 passing yards including a 10 yard TD pass. Gorman was the Lions Choice Athlete of the Game award winner. Martin finished the game 11 of 13 passing for 240 yards. Dominique Bobo was a huge factor on the ground for Chaminade in the first half as he completed the half with just under 100 yards on the ground and 2 TD’s. Bobo suffered an injury late in half and did not see action in the 2nd half. SLUH was ignited by Raymond Wingo’s long, exciting plays. He had four runs over 20 yards, a long punt return, two touchdowns and four pass receptions.  His big plays were vital in the 2nd half come-back by the JR Bills and earned him the Custom Graphics Standout Player of the Game.
