Veteran play-by-play broadcasters Bernie Schaefer and Jamie Mathis will be behind the microphone for the web casts. Local High school sports expert and coach Bob Ryan will provide the color commentary, and, our college football expert, Mark Risley, will preview Saturdays biggest games during halftime of each broadcast.
Schaefer brings 16 years of play-by-play experience to the booth with an extensive background in the local high school sports scene. Since 1996, he has served as the football and basketball voice of the CBC Cadets and Triad (IL) Knights. Schaefer has also covered high school games from all of the local conferences for WINU, WFUN and KIRL Radio.
Mathis has broadcast high school baseball, basketball and football and junior college baseball throughout the state of Missouri. He also served for one year as sports director of KELE Radio in Mount Vernon, Missouri.
As sports director of KELE, Mathis produced three daily sports news programs and was the play-by-play voice of Mount Vernon Mountaineer football, baseball and basketball. He has broadcast Missouri state football playoff games, junior college national tournament baseball and served as a sports reporter for KSMU Radio, the NPR affiliate in Springfield, Missouri.
