The 2014 American Legion Wood Bat Invitational Baseball Tournament from Blue Springs concluded on Sunday, with Union Bank of Lincoln, Nebraska defeating the host team, Post 499 Fike of Blue Springs 6-2 in the final.

Nolan Hackel, who went 3-4 with two RBI in the final and had a save in the semi-final win against Quincy, Illinois, was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
Union Bank won their semi-final 7-5, while Fike went extra innings in the semi-finals against the Jefferson City Auxiliary team, winning 8-7 in nine innings.
