Day One of the 26th Annual Wood Bat American Legion Invitational from Blue Springs Review

WOODBAT_LOGORick 2010 TSPrepcasts.com ’s Day One coverage of the 26th annual Wood Bat American Legion Invitational from Blue Springs, Missouri featured four games on the opening day.

In the first game, Post 1 from Omaha defeated Post 642 of Sedalia 5-1 behind Cameron Wagner’s complete game, allowing one run on five hits and striking out three; Wagner also had a three-run double in the game. Click here for the replay

In the second game, Bellvue West (Nebraska) defeated Leavenworth, Kansas 4-0.  Nate Schenk threw a complete game shutout, limiting Leavenworth to three hits.  Cole Patterson hit a rare home run to lead off the game for Bellvue West.  Click here for the replay

Game number three featured the host team, Post 499 Fike of Blue Springs and the Bears of Independence, Missouri.  Fike opened up a close game with a four-run sixth inning to win 6-0 behind the one hit pitching of Andrew Olsen; Zach Ehlen and Cale Benson each had two RBI for Fike.  Click here for the replay

In the final game, Post 313 of St. Peters, Missouri won a back and forth contest 10-5.  Drew Quinones went 4-4 with two RBI, and Hayden Vaughn had a 3-3 night with four runs knocked in for St. Peters.  Click here for the replay
