Eureka Clinches Suburban West Conference

eurekaClick here for the game – The Eureka Wildcats (8-1, 7-0) clinched the Suburban West Conference with a dominating 49-23 win over the Parkway South Patriots (4-5, 3-4). The Wildcats had no trouble marching 80 yards on the opening drive of the game capped off by a 1 yard TD run by Brett Geisz. That was just the beginning of an unbelievable 1st quarter for Brett Geisz. Aided by 2 fumbles by the Patriots, Geiz tacked on 3 TD passes within 4 minutes of each other in the first quarter to give the Wildcats a 28-0 lead.  Quarterback Mason Bendigo had two of the receiving TD’s and Brock Geiz had the 3rd receiving TD.
Eureka didn’t slow down in the second quarter either,  as they poured on three more TD’s within a 4 minute stretch to take a 49-0 lead with 7:41 left in the HALF! Adam Yancey had a 15 yard rushing TD and a 5 yard TD catch from Brett Geisz. Mason Bendigo also joined in on the fun, launching a 75 yd TD pass down the seam to John Constant. The Patriots played hard in the 2nd half to cut the lead to 49-23, highlighted by a 95 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown by Austin Lawless. Both teams are back in action Friday for the first round of District play. Eureka will host Northwest, while Parkway South will take on Lindbergh.
