The
gate is now open……
Hazelwood Central upset the entire east side of the state with their stunning
upset of the Spartans of Haz East 35-21. With Riverview Gardens and Pattonville
in weeks 2 & 3 of district, the Hawks seem ready to fly onto quarters
while the entire east side sees a much wider gap for many possible teams
to race through to reach the dome.
Not
a misprint!
St Genevieve 69 Potosi 48!! What an offensive display. SGen has 713 yards
offense & 4 more TD’s called back while Potosi is held to 551
yards of offense! I assume that they’ll be some tackling drills taking
place in southeast Missouri this week in practice!
Tanner Wolk was 14-17, 337 yds, passed for 4 TD plus 17 carries for 116
yards as he piloted the Dragons’ monster offense.
Another
fireworks display …
Belton outlasted Raytown 58-26. Some individual stars during this wild one
were Jacob Lynch led the Pirates with 24 carries for 274 yards and 4 TD’s
while the Cardinals had Jon Wegener throwing 24-36, 355 yards and 2 TD's.
Most
exciting game of the night..
Liberty Bluejays 2-OT win over the Blue Springs South 35-28 class 6, district
8 action. After falling behind 21-7 in 3rd, Liberty rallied to take a 28-21
lead in the 4th. Blue Springs scored with 0:43 to tie the game only to have
Liberty win it in 2 OT.
Kirkwood Pioneers romped in 1st week of district play as they handled the unbeaten Vianny Golden Griffins 47-12 with some huge offensive plays in the 1st half to put the game away early. Kirkwood-SLUH game this week should sort out this district.
Ozark Tigers (8-0) big 35-23 win over Nixa Eagles(6-2) should give them a ticket to tangle with the Webb City Cardinals in sectional play.
Tightest
district scores in Missouri -- Class 1, District 10
Polo (5-2) 14 Lone Jack 13. Both Polo’s losses have been in OT!
Wellington Tigers (7-1) 14 Orrick Bearcats (6-2) 13.
Intra-district
match ups that are heated up by some district wins..
Rockwood school district saw the Summit Falcons crunch the Jackson Indians
30-6 and now wait for the Eureka Wildcats who pounded the Seckman Jaguars
41-0. Mehlville and Oakville are both pointed towards their game which should
determine the winner of class 6, district 1. Meanwhile in Class 4, the Timberland-Holt
game from Wentzville School district will decides who moves onward into
state play. Two other Rockwood schools --The Marquette Mustangs and Lafayette
Lancers each won this week, surprisingly easily, as they will fact each
other in the final week. The Park Hill-Park Hill South game will decide
who wears the Class 6, district 8 crown.
District
competition continues this week ! Give us YOUR thoughts!
