0-5 over an 5-0 !!!

Herculaneum was 0-5 at the kickoff of this Mississippi Area White game against Park Hills Central (5-0). After the dust settled on this one, the BlackCats walked off with their 1st win 17-13 ! This shocking loss drops the Rebels back to 3rd place in conference standings !

Losing that unbeaten record

In a terrific battle between two unblemished teams, the Titans of Lee Summit West (6-0)  led 21-0 with just over a minute remaining in 3rd quarter. The Kearny Bulldogs (5-1) mounted a fierce rally that fell just short as the Titans held onto a 21-14 win. The Titans virtually wrapped up the conference title with the win but each coach (and team) realize that during the MSHSAA playoffs, they'll square off again.

LeBlond's Golden Eagles (2-3) strong run game had the Pembroke Hill Raiders(5-1) taste defeat for the first time 38-14.  Four INT's by LeBlond seemed to seal the fate of the Raiders.

Eric Devlin caught a fade pass from SLUH QB John Swanston late the game for the winning TD. The Jr Bills (3-3) upended the #2 ranked DeSmet Spartans 13-12 in Metro Catholic Confernce action. DeSmet suffers their first defeat of the year and now stand at 4-1 for 2007.

The Nixa Eagles (2-4) toppled the Williard Tigers(5-1, #10 ranked) from the unbeaten ranks 27-24. Seth Mincks completed 14 of 19 for 179, 3 TD's coming out of the bullpen for the Eagles. Mincks played as a wide receiver during the first half. The loss snapped the best start in school history for the Williard Tigers. NIxa was 0-4 two weeks ago but the losses were suffered to state powers-- Webb City, Helias, Mountain Grove and Carthage.

Webb City Cardinals (do they ever lose ?) traveled to Kansas to whip Pittsburg, KS 14-6.

Union Wildcats (6-0) hit their usual numbes in a 42-0 drubbing of Sullivan.

Mountain Grove (6-0) coasted by Cabool 44-14. The only remaining opponent over .500 on the Panthers schedule is the Fair Grove Eagles (4-2).

Clark County Indians (6-0) shut out Scotland County 48-0 in Tri-Rivers Action as they prepare for district competition.

You figure it !

In AAA action, St Marys had lost to St Dominic 34-7. The Dragons had pummelled the Cougars of Lutheran St Charles 42-5. So what happened Friday ? An easy win for the Crusadors ?  Well, not exactly--Lutheran St Charles shocked the top team of AAA, St Dominic Crusadors (4-2) 35-20.

Not Exactly the OK Corrall but it was a shootout !

1) Hillcrest Hornets (2-4)  wild 49-37 win over Kickapoo Chiefs (0-6) was really a crowd pleaser. 521 yards for Hillcrest, the Chiefs banged out 362 yards of their own during the game.Big pass plays, power running by Mikael Cooper-Falls (18c/263 yards, 4 TD's) and a late interception by Freshman D-back Vincent Mays that finally iced it for the Hornets. The change in momentum was during the 4th quarter when the Hornets shut down the Chiefs offense to just 24 total yards !

2) Joplin Eagles piled up 469 total yards in a 35-14 win over Lebanon YellowJackets. Lebanon, played ball control in first half by pounding out 283 yards rushing (first half only !). The balanced Eagles utilized 274 passing yards from Cory Rector and 146 rushing yards from Devon Fowler.

Rivalry Week on Prepcasts this week !

1) The oldest private school rivalry west of the old Man river will see the SLUH Jr Bills tangle with the Cadets of CBC on Friday.

2) Two programs on the rebound from the same school district, Fox (5-1)  vs Seckman (4-2) is also on tap. A huge crowd is expected for this tilt.

3) Two South County schools with rich traditions kickoff on Friday as Mehlville faces Lindbergh.

4) Timberland and Washington aren't really rivals-- it's just a great game !!
