Shocker of the night...

St Francis Borgia (2-1) completely handles the Class 2, #1 team - the Blair Oaks Falcons by a score of 35-0. On the other side of the coin after a huge first half, the Falcons worked through a running clock beginning late in the 3rd quarter. The Knights handed Blair Oaks their only defeat last year when the Falcons went on the grab the Class 2 Title in the Dome. Will this sidetrack the Falcons ? Was does it do for Borgia ?

Points were ringing up faster than if all the pinball machines at Arcades-N-More were operating full throttle...

....Joplin Eagles (2-1) pile up 500 yards of offense as they romp TO A 48-28 victory over the West Plains Zizzers.

...Carthage Tigers outlast Miami 44-35

...send me some info on games that scored over 75 points combined and check out Arcades-N-More on the Prepcasts web site!

Don't miss this shining star...

Warrenton Warriors coasted to its first win of 07 as they snatched 43-36 GAC-North conference game from the St Charles West Warriors. SCW QB Brannon Champaign posted some great numbers-134 yards rushing, 7 of 16 for 175 yards passing, threw for 3 TD and scored another! Warrenton was up 40-21 entering the final quarter.

What would you do with the game on the line on, trailing by a point ?

Coach LeRoy Shumaker of Ft Zumwalt North had just scored a TD with 0:12 ticks remaining and his Panthers trailed 20-19 to the #3 (class 4) ranked Timberland Wolves. Coach Shumaker went for the win....he called his best play, which went to his best back, but it was stopped short. What a great game ! What would you do ?

Is this a dream....tackle to running back ?

Kyle Ward asks himself this question every day! The 6'2", 241 pounder been moved this yar to running back for the N. Calloway Thunderbirds very successfully. His 91 yards and 4 TD's propelled the Thunderbirds to a 41-6 thrashing of S. Calloway. At High School level should more teams try to use these "power" backs ?

Last Second Thriller....

....St Joe Central (3-0) remained unbeaten when Scott Humphrey hauled in a pass from Owen Lenander with just 49 seconds remaining to push St Joe to a 29-28 win over Lee Summit. Lenander was 25 of 34 for 295 yards and 4 TD passes for the night.

....Plattsburg (3-0) leapfrogged Lincoln Prep in the 4th quarter in a wild game. Plattsburg scored 20 4th quarter points to pull out a 32-29 victory ! Any others in your neck of the woods that qualify for this category? ryanb@prepcasts.com

These teams have won the first 3 games, will they win the last three ?...

...Lee Summit North Bronchos (3-0) beat Wm Chrisman 35-13 as Jordan Simmons put on a show-TD on 89 yd KO return. 11 carries for 169 yards which included a 96 yard TD run down the sideline.

...Pattonville Pirates (3-0) stunned Hazelwood East 28-21 when Colin Hanna hit Mark Harris for a 23 yard TD pass with just 50 seconds left.

...Centralia (3-0) shut out Macon 28-0 as they look to move upward from their #3 , Class 2 ranking this week.

...Jackson Indians (3-0) used their stout defense to lead them to two scores (INT for TD and 3 plays later a FR on 15 yd line) as they handled the Vianney Golden Griffins 21-7.

...Class 4,#1 Webb City fought off a young, fierce crew of Nixa defenders but found a way to win 26-0. The Cardinals have been regular visitors to St Louis recently !

...new records were being tacked on the wall as the Moberly Spartans (3-0-#7 class3) overwhelmed the Hannibal Pirates 39-22. QB Caleb Lewis was 16 of 27 for 5 TD (tied record) and 393 yards passing (new mark for Moberly)

...we know that many other teams on 3-0 but we would need several pages to mention each one.  We'll spread it around each week.  Give us an idea of who YOU want to read about in this "perfect record" segment.

Heavyweight Battle !

In a titanic Class 6 fight, the Jags of Blue Springs South (3-0) behind Blain Dalton's early deep passing upended Blue Springs 24-14 in Suburban Big 7 action. The Wildcats (1-2) record doesn't reflect that they've lost to #1 Blue Sp South and #2 Rockhurst for their losses !

Eyeballing the rankings this week...

...Park Hill should move up in class 5 since they toppled the #1 ranked Ray-Pec 21-10

...Class 4 still has a log jam of 10 unbeaten teams while class 3 has 12 unblemished records !

Come-back kids...

Farmington (3-0)did it again! Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat this week when they edged Waynesville 18-14. In week 1, the Knights kicked a FG in the waning seconds for their opening season victory. Other big rallies in week 3 ?

New equation: icy veins + strong leg = winning kick...

...Drew O'Connell drilled one through the uprights from 23 yards as the buzzer sounded to save the Longhorns of Parkway West(2-1) 20-17 over Summit. O'Connell ignored the taunts of the opposing players AND fans while waiting during the time out to kick. The Longhorns had seen a 17-0 halftime lead evaporate prior the the winning FG.

...Chaminade (3-0) walked off winners when Brett Kuempel booted a 26 yarder with 23 seconds left to knock off the SLUH Jr Bills 20-17 in MCC play.

...Who else made late winning kicks this week ? ryanb@prepcasts.com

Curse is gone...
