Some streaking, some lucky numbers (3), some battles, take a look- week 3

Historically, 3 is a lucky number: Look at some of the 3-0 teams (some familiar names and some fresh ones) in the STATE—
Bolivar Liberators continue their prolific scoring ways just as in 2005.
Zumwalt West Jaguars defeated conference foe Howell Central 41-34 despite a wild comeback by the Spartans in the final minutes
Greenfield-beat a very talented Lockwood team 29-18 after trailing 18-13 midway in the 4th
quarter !;
Hazelwood Central Hawks blasted long time nemesis the Hickman Kewpies Friday;
Fulton – won the Hwy 54 Bowl by shutting out Mexico 27-0;
Jennings Warriors – won the annual slugfest with Berkeley 20-10 to gain recognition
Webb City—opened the back of play book as they romped past the Nixa Eagles 27-0. The Cardinals QB Collin Howard passed 10 of 19, 155 yards. This was a real departure for the usual explosive ground game that is employed by the Cardinals.
Eureka Wildcats—beat Webster Groves in OT by converting a 2 point conversion !
Ava Bears—won 42-9 as Chance Davis had 15c/ 174 yards and 3 TD
Summit Falcons—bouncing back to prominence in 2006-knocked off unbeaten Parkway West Longhorns by scoring 25 unanswered 2nd half points after a 7-7 halftime deadlock
Crystal City Hornets—coasted to 43-13 win over Chaffee Red Devils
Herman Bearcats & Union Wildcats will be playing a premier game with 4 Rivers conference title implications this week. Each team has smashed opponents in 1st 3 weeks.
Moutain Grove-led by Casey White 13 of 17, 197 yards in romp over MtV-Liberty 38-0
Kirkwood- showed a stout defense in a key 14-3 conference win over Lindbergh
Cassville Wildcats edged Lamar Tigers 24-7 to remain a STATE force
Chaminade Flyers—upset SLUH in convincing fashion this weekend 35-22

Some streaks….
….St Francis Borgia (2-1) snapped the Blair Oaks (2-1) 30 game win streak in regular season with a 24-15 victory in Jeff City.
St Genevieve (2-1) maintained their mastery of the Perryville Pirates (2-1) with a 22-11 win. It 13 straight wins for the Dragons over the Pirates now!
…40 straight points ! Rolla Bulldogs (2-1) led 14-12 after 1 quarter. The Dogs went streaking for 40 to blow open the game with Parkview (0-3) 54-18.
St Vincent Indians 13-12 whisker win over Valle Catholic kept the string of 15 consecutive years that the Indians have won at Valle.

Nail-biters for week 3…
…best game of the week.. 3 OT (what else?) Springfield Catholic 34 Cabool 28
…Aurora Houn Dawgs (2-1) rallied from a 14 point deficit to knock off E.Newton 21-14. QB Pete Summers was the main offensive cog with 144 yds passing, 72 rushing
…the Helias Crusadors (2-1) kicked 33 yd FG with 51 ticks left on the clock to edge an upstart Kirksville Tiger tam 17-16. Helias scored the last 10 points of the game !
