Class 6
The Big One is the Blue Springs
(10-1)-Rockhurst (9-2) rematch from many weeks ago. Blue
Springs is loaded with extraordinary talent at the offensive
play-making positions. Rockhurst, who took two early losses out
of state, seems to find a way to win. They've beaten these
Wildcats and the Jefferson City Jays TWICE ! Blue Springs has
been itching for this chance to redeem themselves since their
loss- I'm going with the Wildcats.
Jefferson City Jays (9-2) travel
to St Louis to face the DeSmet Spartans (11-0). The Jays potent
offense is led by a terrific offensive line led by Caleb Davis
(who will play on Friday after last week's "stinger" scared
everyone). Running back, Jr Cody Walker (6-2, 225) is D1 all the
way. DeSmet's strength has been a stifling defense that relies
on speed from all eleven spots. Offensively, Stephen Kaiser has
been improving each week and has provided the catalyst when
needed (which hasn't been too often). Malcolm Agnew has replaced
the injured, David HIll, in a spectacular way. Look for a high
scoring affair here. I'm thinking the total points will be
around 70. This game may be heard on

Fox (9-2) upset previously
unbeaten Lindbergh last week, 31-28 in an OT thriller.
Travelling the same path as last year, the Warriors play
Oakville in another rematch. Oakville won the district
championship game 19-13 as they took away the Fox pass game.
Seizing the momentum with the Lindbergh win, I'm looking for the
Warriors to make another trip to the semifinals like last year.

Two runner-ups will be in the
quarterfinals. Lafayette stunned everyone with their 38-22 win
over McCluer North last weekend. Hazelwood Central's win
over CBC was an easy 35-7 win. Central seems to be peaking at
just the right time....Hawks facing Fox in semi's again this
year!! it's on Saturday on

CLASS 5
Not many people gave the
Chaminade Flyers much of a chance against the red-hot Hazelwood
East Spartans. Some said that they were too one-dimensional-Rob
Standard running. It didn't matter, Standard ran for over 300
yards and Chaminade tumbled the Spartans(6-5) 24-21. Now
Chaminade faces the Webster Groves Statesman in the quarters. WG
trailed 18-15 at half against Eureka (5-5) but came alive in the
second half to win going away 36-25. I think that the Statesman
may have been looking past Eureka (anticipating Haz East
Spartans) last week but will be focused this week. WG.
Best Class 5 game of the day--Ft
Osage (11-0), who beat a good Park Hill team 29-6, will face
perennial power Raymore-Peculiar (8-3). Ray-Pec stepped up into
a conference with larger teams so they're record may be a bit
deceiving. This will be a terrific battle-- I'm leaning to the
tried&true team-- Ray-Pec.
Parkway North (9-1) won in
thrilling fashion on Monday-- four OT's over Rolla 38-25. Aaron
Hummert's FG was the difference as the Rolla FG attempt to tie
hit the uprights!! The Vikings will now face their old
intra-district friend, the Parkway Central Colts. Central
knocked off the GAC Champs, Timberland 22-8. Coach Bob Bunton
has his team perking...I'm going with the Vikings.
