Big plays, upsets, 3-balls galore, this week had it all! Take a look
The

….Williard (17-0) drained 12 of 23 3’s on way to win over Nixa
this week …
….Hannibal Pirates lit up the Mexico zone by scoring 14-3’s.
Bruce Scott led the way with 5 from beyond the arc. Hannibal notched a 72-62
win.
….Kenzie Burke (McCluer North) hit a trey at the buzzer, another in
final seconds of first OT, and then led his team to a rousing 76-73 –
2-OT victory of Suburban North foe, the Hazelwood Central Hawks.
….St James Tigers, led by Scott Thompson with 7 –3 pointers,
popped in a total of 15 to overwhelm the Fatima Comets (9-5) 85-69 in the
St James Tournament 3rd Place game.
You can win in other ways; Bell City (12-3) owned the boards as they moved closer to the SCAA Conference title by bulldozing Bloomfield 74-47 this week. Bell City dominated the rebounding battle 30-9 as they recorded their 4th straight win!

…Carl Junction (15-3) had its 6-7, Missouri Southern recruit, Kyle
Schage return to action from a knee injury this week. Schage led his team
to a 72-56 win over rival the Monnet Cubs!
….Poplar Bluff fought through long stretches of the 3rd period without
star Ben Hansbrough. Foul trouble benched him in the championship game of
the St Johns Winter Classic. Hansbrough, returned to action in the 4th and
led the Mules to a 68-59 win over the Glendale Falcons. Hansbrough won the
MVP award based on his 27 points in the final game. The replay of this game

Upsets…
….The CBC Cadets(11-5) knocked off the #1 St Louis ranked small school,
previously unbeaten, Borgia Knights (17-1) 72-64 on Wednesday. The sweetness
of the upset turned sour for the Cadets on Friday as the Chaminade Flyers
(8-8) tumbled the Cadets 65-38.
….In a mild upset, the Troy (14-3) Trojans (#4 ranked, class 5 school)
were beaten 54-51 by the Bulldogs of Ft Zumwalt South (13-5) in a GAC-South
match up. Interestingly, the Trojans are now 0-2 in conference competition.
Other
big wins for a week in January…
…In girl’s action, Incarnate Word Academy bested the Jackson
Indians 58-43 in a physical, tenacious tough and tumble game at the Notre
Dame Shootout last weekend. The huge IWA-WG girl’s game will be covered
this Thursday on www.prepcasts.com
….The Macon Tigers hung on to edge Kirksville(12-2) Tigers 63-59.
Up by 12 points with a tad over a minute remaining, Kirksville went on a
10-0 run and only a FT with 7.4 seconds remaining by Garrett Wiggins iced
it for the Tigers of Macon.
….Dixon Bulldogs clicked off 83 points as they blasted Crocker 83-55
in the Championship Game of the Iberia Tournament. Three Bulldogs were scored
over 20 pts!
…The North Platte Lady Panthers (11-2) walked off with the big hardware
as they won the Lathrop Tournament 56-35 over East Buchanon.
