
Tom Dix will be hanging it up after this season. The
Kirkwood Pioneer baseball program has only seen 3 managers (Denver Miller,
Lou Diaz, and Tom Dix) over nearly the past 5 decades. Toms knowledge,
hard work and dedication to baseball will be missed by all.
With Josh Phelps as a super #1 pitcher, Haz West will go as far
as their #2 pitcher will take them.
...Hopefully we won't be like the SI Cover jinx--last week we mentioned
that Jeff Sargent (Francis Howell) was unbeaten throughout his high school
career. He lost last Saturday to CBC to bring the string! oops...
Vianney finished 3rd in MCC last year. This year with emergence
of Josh Syberg to #1 pitching spot, steady defensive play, timely hitting,
development of Stevison & Klocke on the mound, the Golden Griffins
have again positioned themselves for a long run.
Defending state champion, Hallsville is seeded #2 in their district.
WEll see if theyve been experimenting, developing or slipping
as district play unfolds.
.Clearwater has the most wins of the year ! Theyve won 30
games (combined fall and spring seasons). This Class 2 team will have
to tangle with powerful E.Carter to advance into state tournament.
..the Highly competitive district #10, class 4 involves Hickman (17-1),
Jeff City, Rock Bridge, and host Smith-Cotton. The winner from this district
will likely travel to Holt for sectional round game. With Holt facing

Farmington Black Knights will be facing far larger schools in the
district play than their conference competition. Stuart Sago will be the
horse that these Knights ride.
CBCs Scott Brown recently notched his 200th victory as the
manager of the CBC Cadets since 1992.
District 2 of Class 1 pits Advance against Oran in a match up of
two of the best teams in this classification.
