Ste. Genevieve took the opening kickoff Friday night and drove 64 yards,
2 feet, and 10 inches. Unfortunately, their 4th down run on the 13th
play of the drive was stopped 2 inches short of the end zone.
Potosi then drove 99+ yards in 13 plays for the game’s first TD late in
the first quarter on a 50 yard pass from Jr. QB Jordan Huerta to Sr.
wide receiver John Thompson. The Trojans had a 7-0 lead and never
relinquished it on their way to a 20-7 win.
It was 13-0 at the half on a 24 yard touchdown run by talented Austin
Cooley with 9:33 left in the 2nd quarter. The Trojans final score was a
2 yard run from halfback Blaine Riddle late in quarter 3.
Ste. Gen tallied their only TD with 6:23 remaining in the game on a 58
yard punt return by sophomore Logan Rhinehart.
Potosi, now 4-0, had 321 yards of total offense, 220 on the ground. The
Dragons, who fell to 2-2, could muster only 201 yards of total offense,
113 of those rushing.
Ste. Gen will host Fredericktown Friday night.
Valle Catholic jumped out to an early 20-0 lead and went on to a 54-0
victory at Crystal City. Junior QB Connor Basler was 13-22 for 253 yards
and 4 TD’s. The Warriors totaled 459 yards of offense and held the
Hornets to 103 total yards.
Valle, now 4-0 and winners of 19 straight over 2 years, will host
Grandview on Homecoming Night Friday. You can hear that game on
