Kodner2011ccclogomainPrintClick here to listen to the game – The Class 5 Missouri State Championship would be a rematch of the 2007 affair when Lee Summit West defeated Parkway Central by a score of 35-0.  The Titans were going for their third state championship, in just their 10th year of existence, while the Colts would be looking for their first.  Both teams came into the contest with only one loss and dominated their opponents all season long.  The game started harmlessly with each team going three and out on their first possessions.  However, that would be the last punt for the Titans in the first half as they scored on each of their next 5 time they would have the ball.  Brenner Clemons and Monte Harrison each ran for a touchdown, while tailback Ryan Williams would run for two scores.  Great field position was a key factor, as the Titans started near mid field for most of the half.  They were aided by 3 interceptions from their star cornerback Logan Cheadle, who intercepted 3 passes, including one for a pick six.  Tanner Martin added a field goal just before the Half and Lee Summit west went into halftime leading 30-7.  Parkway Central’s only score came on a 57 yard screen pass form quarterback Zach Lazenby to his tight end Jonathan Bonner late in the second quarter.  On the titan’s first possession of the second half, they drove the ball 72 yards on 8 plays, capped off with a 17 yards touchdown run by Williams, his third of the day, and that sealed the fate of this contest.  The final score was 51-14 as the Lees Summit West Titans dominated in all phases of this contest.
