Thanks for the memories Coach Stolzer

Frank-KirchmerKennett Jr. QB Edward Wilson took over those duties 5 weeks ago. What he
has done since, is what legends are made of.

Friday night he ran for 288 yards on 31 carries and scored 4 TD’s to
lead the 6th seeded Indians (5-5) to a 42-36 upset win over #3 Ste.
Genevieve (6-4) in a first round, Class 3, District 1 game. The loss
ended the 27 year career of Bob Stolzer, Ste. Genevieve’s Hall of Fame
Head Coach.

Wilson has run for 1,010 yards in the last 5 games as Kennett has gone
4-1. His touchdowns were from 80, 14, 14, and 11 yards out. His 37 yard
TD pass to Michael Richmond on 4th down early in the 4th quarter proved
to be the difference in the game as the Indians went up 42-21.

The Dragons had 600 yards of total offense with Soph. QB Wyatt
Lalumandier 19-28 for 325 yards and 3 TD’s. Sr. Drew Schmelzle had 6
catches for 157 yards and 2 spectacular touchdown receptions. Jr. RB
Austin Brewer had 26 carries for 202 yards.

The Indians finished with 457 yards of total offense. They advance to a
Semifinal home game against #7 Fredericktown Friday night.

Stolzer ends his illustrious coaching career with 206 wins, 1 State
Title, 1 2nd Place finish, 5 Semifinal Appearances, 3 Quarterfinal
Appearances, 17 Playoff Appearances, 14 District Titles, and 13
Conference Titles. He had only 3 losing seasons in 27 years. Ken Weik
will take over as the Dragons new Head Coach next season.

Top ranked Class 1 Valle Catholic (Ste. Genevieve) won their 25th
straight game over 2 seasons with a District 1, 55-0 victory over
Chaffee. The Warriors, now 10-0, will host St. Vincent (Perryville),
4-6, Friday night in a Semifinal game. You can hear that game LIVE at
