The Magic Number for Valle is 28

Frank-KirchmerA big, physical, fired up Marionville (9-4) team put a scare into top
ranked Class 1 Valle Catholic (Ste. Genevieve) Saturday afternoon before
the Warriors scored 28 unanswered points in the 2nd half and captured
the quarterfinal round game, 48-20.

The Comets left the field at halftime tied at 20 and with momentum on
their side thanks to Jr. Tanner Wright. He scored all 3 first half
touchdowns on a 95 yard kickoff return, a 72 yard run on the Comets
first play from scrimmage, and a 31 yard throwback pass from 215 pound
Jr. QB Jacob LaSalle. The Comets old style single-wing attack totaled
292 yards of offense, 198 on the ground, with offensive and defensive
lines that averaged around 240 pounds a man. The Warriors held
Marionville to 101 total yards in the 2nd half.
