The Pattonville Pirates had a pretty clear game plan on Friday night as they hosted the Lindbergh Flyers in week two of the high school football season. Stay balanced on offense and swarm to the football on defense. The Pirates accomplished both en route to a 37-14 victory. Pattonville senior running back Tyrone Eastern found the end zone twice and freshman signal caller Kaleb Eleby threw for a couple of scores as well. The Pirates took a 23-14 lead into the locker room at the half after a 20yd FG by Cody Blankenship. The Pirates held Lindbergh scoreless in the second half.
Pattonville’s defense stifled Lindbergh’s spread offensive passing attack the entire night with several pass break-ups and forced the Flyers quarterback’s to throw four interceptions one of which was taken back for a touchdown by Pattonville cornerback CJ McDaniel. Lindbergh starting quarterback Sam Neumeier, who threw two of those interceptions was knocked out of the game in the third quarterback and never returned.
Pattonville (2-0) will travel to Hazelwood West next Saturday, while Lindbergh (0-2) will host Mehlville on Friday night.
