No. 9 Eureka 49, Fox 14 –
Eureka quarterback Mason Bendigo didn’t need any further motivation Friday night against Fox. It was Senior Night, and the 6 foot 6, 220-pound senior wasn’t about to let the opposition take the spotlight away from him.
Bendigo tossed four touchdown passes as the Wildcats cruised to a 49-14 victory over the Warriors to remain perfect (6-0) in conference play.
Eureka opened up the scoring on a nifty fake punt pass that resulted in a 69-yard touchdown from Brett Geisz to Blake Ollar.
Then Bengio took over.
He connected with John Constant for a 25-yard touchdown with 4:17 to go in the first quarter. Not three minutes later, Bendigo hooked up with Constant once more, this time a 58-yard score.
In the second quarter, Bendigo found receivers Nick Rebecca and Phil Mink for touchdowns.
By halftime the game was out of reach.
Eureka pulled its starters with a running clock in the second half and coasted to victory.
The Wildcats (7-1) will travel to Parkway South (3-3, 4-4) for their regular-season finale next Friday, while the Warriors (2-6, 1-5) will host Lafayette (6-2, 5-1) on Senior Night. Click here for the game
