Vale went 71 yards on 7 plays in their opening drive with Jr. fullback
Tristan Huck scoring from the 1 just 1:57 into the game. The extra point
try was missed and the Warriors lead was 6-0 on the hot and muggy 93
degree day.

Westran stopped the Warriors next possession at the Hornets 1 and on the
very next play Sr. FB Dalton Wright went 99 yards for a touchdown and
with the Brett Hilbreth extra point, it was 7-6 with 6:40 remaining in
the opening stanza.

But, the Warriors took control of the game after losing a fumble at the
Westran 18, as Sr. QB Connor Basler scored on a 6 yard run and the 2
point conversion for a 14-7 advantage with 1:19 left in the opening

Valle Catholic increased their lead to 49-7 by halftime. Sophomore Chris
Loida went to the house on a 17 yard run followed by three Basler TD
passes, a 30 yarder to Jr. Tristan Rollhaus, plus 24 and 9 yarders to
Sr. Devon Kutz. Kutz added three extra points and Loida ran in a two
point conversion. Huck scored his 2nd TD with 26 seconds left in the
half on a 1 yard run. Valle was given a short field the entire afternoon
by several poor Hornet punts.

Valle’s final 3 touchdowns in the second half, that was played entirely
with a running clock, were scored by the 2nd and 3rd units. Jr. Cody
Stoll completed a 4 play, 40 yard drive, with a 6 yard TD run. Sophomore
QB Mason Skaggs went 46 yards down the sidelines to pay dirt and Fr.
Carter Roth added a 49 yard touchdown run. Freshman Ryan Grein had 2
extra points.

ground for 467 yards of total offense. Sr. Nick Oberle had 7 catches for
66 yards. Rollhaus tacked on 5 for 60. Loida carried the ball 8 times
for 95 yards.

Westran finished with only 106 yards of total offense, all on the
ground. The Hornets had just 7 yards rushing aside from the 99 yard TD
run by Wright as the Warriors dominated the line of scrimmage.
