Which Host City is Best?

If moving around Brazil on a whim appears to be out, your best bet is to choose a single base and sample what you can of the “carnival of football” from there.

Pick one of the designated host cities and you can’t go far wrong: there’s already a World Cup 2014 stadium in situ, and each venue hosts a minimum of four games. You can choose your destination because of the city itself, or choose your city based on who will be playing there.

Read our guides to each World Cup host city for local information plus travel advice, accommodation and stadium news.
